Setting Up Your Employer Account | Part 2 of 3

You cannot use your current driver Clearinghouse account. You must create a new "Employer" acct.

You can leave your old account active though!

SETTING UP AN EMPLOYER ACCOUNT WITHOUT A DOT#

Step 1:

 Visit https://secure.login.gov/ and click Create an Account 

Step 2:

Enter an email address that is different from your current driver account email address (Can be any email but must be different from your current Clearinghouse email) 


For your company name, you can just use your first and last name

EXAMPLE: John Wayne Trucking 

Step 3:

Confirm your Email Address in your new email inbox 

Step 3:

Check your email and open the email from no-reply@login.gov, with the subject line
Confirm your email. 

Step 4:

Create a Password 

Step 5:

Select an option to secure your account. If you choose backup codes be sure to save them! 

Step 6:

Enter your security code or backup method chosen and submit.


You have created your new account; click agree and continue

Step 7:

You have now created your Employer Account account.


Click "Agree and Continue" to return to the Clearinghouse website and complete your Clearinghouse registration and finish setting it up.

Step 8:

Select "Employer" as your Role (Nothing else)

Then Click "Register as an Employer and Driver” 

Step 9:

Select "No" I do not have an FMCSA Portal Account (They are talking about the Portal account for the DOT# Not your other Clearinghouse Account) 

Step 10:

Select "No" I do not have an FMCSA Portal Account 

Step 11:

Select "Yes" I am my employer’s Clearinghouse Administrator and click Next 

Step 12:

Select "No" My company does not have a USDOT Number and click Next 

Step 13:

Select "I do not need a USDOT Number" 

Step 14:

Enter your contact information and click Next (Remember to use your different email address) and click Next 

Step 15:

Enter your Company Information (This can be identical to your contact information)

You can make up a company name as well.

Step 16:

In the "Who is your C/TPA?" text box, type: DriveLine Solutions C/TPA and select from the drop down, then click Next 

Step 17:

Click the "Designate" button next to DriveLine Solutions C/TPA 

Step 18:

Check the following boxes to authorize DriveLine to perform these functions on your behalf:

  • Report Violations
  • Report RTD Information
  • Conduct Queries

 When finished checking these boxes, click Next

Step 19:

Enter your current CDL information and click Verify.

(If the CDL number has special characters [such as spaces or hyphens], try entering the number with or without those characters, as requirements vary by State.)


You will receive a confirmation message that your CDL information has been verified successfully. Then Click Next.


If the Clearinghouse is not able to verify your CDL information, you can continue with the registration and add your CDL information later.

Step 20:

Check the Box "I affirm that all the information provided is true and accept all of the terms above" and Click "I Agree" 

Final Step:

Go to your Dashboard in your new Clearinghouse Account


In the dropdown menu under "Queries" select "Purchase a Query Plan"


You will need to purchase 2 queries. These cost $1.25 each.

(Clearinghouse will never charge your card in the future without you directly making a purchase)


DriveLine will pull one to view your current status and the second will be to show your updated "Not Prohibited" status.
